MANILA – There is still no electricity inside the residence of Angel Manalo, the brother of Iglesia ni Cristo executive minister Eduardo Manalo, nearly a week after the younger Manalo was expelled by the church.

A radio DZMM report said the Manalo residence remained without power as of Tuesday afternoon. Power supply to the Manalo residence had reportedly been cut since last week after the younger Manalo appeared in a YouTube video pleading for help due to threats.

Former INC minister Roel Rosal earlier warned police vehicles were blocking the driveway to the Manalo residence. He said there are sick people inside the Manalo compound who may need to be moved out.

Police later moved their vehicles away from the Manalo driveway.

Police Senior Inspector Jun Fortunato said the presence of police vehicles is meant to ensure the safety of INC members in the area.

Rosal had also warned that food deliveries to the Manalo residence were being blocked by police. Several INC members, with faces covered, have been delivering food to the Manalo residence in Tandang Sora, Quezon City since the crisis started last week.

The Commission on Human Rights later visited the compound to check on the report.

Angel and Tenny Manalo, the widow of INC’s former executive minister Eraño Manalo, earlier appeared in a YouTube video saying their lives were in danger and that some of the INC’s ministers critical of the current INC leadership had been abducted and were being held against their will.

The INC decided to expel Tenny and Angel after their video made the rounds online.

Angel’s siblings, Lolita “Lottie” Manalo-Hernandez and Marco Eraño Villanueva Manalo, were also reportedly expelled from the group.

After surfacing on Friday for the first time since the scandal broke, Angelo again talked to the media on Monday, this time asking Eduardo to talk to them.

Angelo also named Santos and Sanggunian member Radel Cortez as being behind the alleged corruption in the INC. With a report by Johnson Manabat, radio DZMM

Cracks in the powerful century-old indigenous Christian group were revealed when relatives of the INC executive minister called for help and revealed alleged rampant corruption and high-living within the religious group.
