Do you know this? Watch Tower followers used to celebrate Christmas until they stopped from 1928!
If the Watch Tower claims that it is God’s chosen organization to dispense His Truth, why did it discard this teaching? The Watch Tower teaches that in 1919, Jesus chose it to be His sole vessel of salvation with the claim that the WTS is the only organization teaching truth.Yet various practices in 1919 are now being considered pagan by the Watch Tower.
Witnesses used to actively participate and promote Christmas until after 1919. Watch Tower followers believed that this teaching was under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and was okay. Now how can the same Spirit later suggest that this practice is to be declared pagan and even go ahead to claim that those who participate in this practice lack “understanding”?
Look what the WTS wrote in their Proclaimers of God’s Kingdom book;
“When Jehovah’s Witnesses cast aside religious teachings that had pagan roots, they also quit sharing in many customs that were similarly tainted. But for a time, certain holidays were not given the careful scrutiny that they needed. One of these was Christmas.” Jehovah’s Witnesses – Proclaimers of God’s Kingdom p.198
However, this statement contradicts their former practice of and statements about Christmas. Here is what the WTS wrote in one of their Writings;
“Even though Christmas is not the real anniversary of our Lord’s birth, but more properly the annunciation day or the date of his human begetting (Luke 1:28), nevertheless, since the celebration of our Lord’s birth is not a matter of divine appointment or injunction, but merely a tribute of respect to him, it is not necessary for us to quibble particularly about the date. We may as well join with the civilized world in celebrating the grand event on the day which the majority celebrate – “Christmas day.” Zion’s Watch Tower 1904 Dec 1 p.364
The WTS also claims that Christmas is of pagan origin without realizing that virtually everything we do and use is of pagan origin. It does not follow that something is wrong because of pagan connections, as virtually every practice or belief can be traced back to a pagan counterpart including bathing, eating, dressing, wedding gowns and rings, flying kites etc.Why do they use and engage in these practices? More relevant is what a practice means to current participants. People celebrate Christmas to honor Jesus and not to remember pagans. The claim of paganism is a poor line of reasoning employed by most cults including Ang Dating Daan of False Prophet Eli Soriano. This homosexual rapist borrowed/copied this fabricated teaching from the Watch Tower Society and imposed it on his brainwashed followers.
For the Watch Tower Society, evidence shows that the cult prayed for the Holy Spirit and claimed that Christmas was an acceptable practice before 1919. To later revoke that teaching proves that the Holy Spirit does not operate through the Watch Tower leaders.
The Bible says that the God is not the author confusion;
I Corinthians 14:33 “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”
The confusion in cults like the Watch Tower, Ang Dating Daan, Iglesia Ni Manalo and others comes from the devil-who confuses and misleads leaders of these cults to teach false,heretical, fabricated and contradictory teachings.It is confusion of the devil because there is no truth in him.He is a liar just like how leaders of these cults mislead people.
Our God is a God of order.We must not allow ourselves be misled by these agents of Satan,the anti-Christs who want to lessen the importance of Our Lord Jesus by claiming that we should not celebrate Christmas.Who are they any way? Has God sent them to claim so? When did He send them? The Bible warns against such as these who judge others and their celebrations;
Romans 14:5-6: “One indeed judges a day above another; and another one judges every day alike, Let each one be fully assured in his own mind. The one minding the day, he minds it to the Lord. And the one not minding the day, he does not mind it to the Lord. The one eating, he eats to the Lord; for he give thanks to God. And the one not eating, he does not eat to the Lord, and gives thanks to God.”
In this Advent season, let our focus be on Our Lord Jesus Christ and prepare our heart to welcome into our lives,other than wasting time on false and fabricated teachings from these cults. Be prayerful, kind,cheerful, agreeable, responsive, caring, and understanding. Be your best, dress your best, talk softly, and look for the bright side of things. Praise people for what they do and do not criticize them for what they cannot do. If someone does something stupid, forgive and forget. I wish you a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year 2015.
