Seasoned actress and book author Rita Avila could not describe her feelings when she received a letter from the office of Pope Francis after she sent the Catholic leader copies of her inspirational books, “The Invisible Wings” and “Eight Ways to Comfort with Grace.”

Monsignor Peter B. Wells, an official of the Vatican Secretariat of State, relayed the Pope’s message to Rita.

The letter reads, “The Holy Father wishes me to express his gratitude for the kind gift of inscribed copies of your books. He appreciates the sentiments which prompted you to share your writing with him.”

“Inisip ko na what if magpadala talaga ako ng Christmas gift. It’s hard to describe. Somehow I knew he read the book or browsed it for him to say that,” Rita said in an interview on “24 Oras.”

God’s blessings

The Pope also prayed for Rita and her husband, director Erick Reyes.

“His Holiness will remember you and your husband in his prayers. He invokes upon you God’s blessings of strength and peace,” Monsignor Peter B. Wells continued.

Rita told her Instagram followers that she received the letter on her son, Elia Jesu’s eighth death anniversary.

“To all who supported me, who helped me promote and who bought my books, you are a part of this honor and blessing. Thank you very much. May more angels on earth be born out of my books,” she posted on Instagram.
