Starting April 1 until April 9, 2014, all of the 149 parishes in the Catholic Archdiocese of Cebu will be praying an Oratio Imperata for the protection of the family and all human life to avert the possible implementation of RH Law in the Philippines.

On April 8, the Supreme Court will have the final deliberation on whether or not to implement the RH Law which has been on hold for over a year. All the five petitioners which filed lawsuits against the RH Law contend that is unconstitutional. It is completely in opposition to Article 2, Section 12 of the  Philippine Constitution which states: “The State recognizes the sanctity of family life and shall protect and strengthen the family as a basic autonomous social institution. It shall equally protect the life of the mother and the life of the unborn from conception.”

Human Life International Philippines communicated all our partner groups and lay leaders in the whole Visayas, Mindanao and southern Luzon areas to offer massive prayers vigils especially on the evening of April 7 for the above intention.

We hope lovers of life worldwide will offer special prayers for the Philippines to protect our nation from the culture of death.

Oratio Imperata for the Protection of the Family and all Human Life

Almighty God, our loving Father,
Creator and lover of all life,
You created us in Your own image and likeness.

Give us the strength and courage
to defend and protect marriage, the family,
and all human life:
from conception, at the moment of fertilization,
to natural death.

We ask Your divine healing, comfort, and peace
for all those suffering from marital and family problems.
Grant to them forgiveness, understanding, and strength.

We pray for the Philippine Supreme Court Justices,
may they declare the Reproductive Health Law as
unconstitutional.
We also pray for all our leaders and legislators,
may they reject all measures and policies which are against life and family.

May Mary, our most loving Mother,
intercede for the Filipino people.
We entrust to Her this cause for the protection
of Life and the Family.
To You, O Lord, through Her, we consecrate
the Filipino nation.

We ask all these through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

O Mary, Mediatrix of All-Grace and Queen of the Family,

St. Joseph, Chaste Spouse of the Virgin Mary, pray for us.
