Divinity of Jesus Christ Revealed
The Preexistence of Christ from eternity is His created Soul infused with the uncreated Spirit of God but without a human body yet.
Let us expound that truth of God:
What is Preexistence?
Preexistence is an existence in a former state or previous to something else; specifically: existence of the soul before its union with the body.
That definition of Preexistence by Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary is not entirely accurate. They failed to include the existence of the spirit that was infused into the soul to enliven it, as in this wise:
WISDOM 15:11 Because he knew not the one who fashioned him, and breathed into him a quickening soul, and infused a vital spirit.
When the LORD God formed man out of the clay of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life, the man became a living soul, a living being, a living person, because the breath of life is the spirit that was infused into the soul to vivify it and give him understanding:
GEN 2:7 Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being. (Amplified Bible)
JOB 32:8 But it is a spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding.
All breath or spirit of life comes from the LORD, the God of the spirits of all mankind, which returns to God when a man reached the end of his life:
NUM 27:16 “May the LORD, the God of the spirits of all mankind, set over the community a man.”
GEN 6:3 Then the LORD said: “My spirit shall not remain in man forever, since he is but flesh. His days shall comprise one hundred and twenty years.”
At the point of death of a man with a sin that leads to death, the Word of God, who is Jesus Christ (cf RV 19:13), separates the spirit from the soul which brings death to both the body and the soul:
HEB 4:12 For the word of God is living and effectual, and more piercing than any two edged sword; and reaching unto the division of the soul and the spirit, of the joints also and the marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (DRV)
JMS 2:26 For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
If a body and soul lost its spirit that enlivens it, it dies:
MT 10:28 And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
When Jesus was crucified and about to die, He entrusted His Spirit to the Father from whence It came:
LK 23:46 Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit”; and when he had said this he breathed his last.
From eternity, the Spirit of Jesus was begotten by God (not made, but came out from the womb of the Father), Who is Spirit (cf JN 4:24), for Christ is God from God, Spirit from Spirit:
PS 109:3 With thee is the principality in the day of thy strength: in the brightness of the saints: from the womb before the day star I begot thee. (Douay-Rheims Version)
Footnote: Before the daystar: possibly an expression for before the world began.
JN 16:27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. (KJV)
JN 1:1-2 In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was present originally with God. (AMP)
JN 1:1-2 Before anything else existed, there was Christ, with God. He has always been alive and is Himself God. (The Living Bible by Tyndale)
The Soul of Jesus which bore all the sins of the human race was left in His lifeless body on the cross when He gave up His Spirit and entrusted It to His Father Who owns it, and it was His Soul that was dragged into hell (netherworld):
1PT 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body upon the cross, so that, free from sin, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
2COR 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who did not know sin, so that we might become the righteousness of God in him.
ACTS 2:29-31 My brothers, one can confidently say to you about the patriarch David that he died and was buried, and his tomb is in our midst to this day. But since he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants upon his throne, he foresaw and spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that neither was he abandoned to the netherworld nor did his flesh see corruption.
It is written that when a spirit was separated from its body and soul, it does not return, and once a soul was dragged into hell, it cannot be brought back. But in the case of the Lord Jesus Christ, when His Spirit was separated from His Body and Soul, that bore our sins, which put to death His flesh, He was brought back to life when His Spirit was reunited with His Soul and His glorified body was spared from putrefaction, because His Soul, who is the only one who came back from hell, destroyed death and brought back life and immortality to humankind as its consequence, thus, he now hold the keys to death and hell:
WISDOM 16:14 Man, however, slays in his malice, but when the spirit has come away, it does not return, nor can he bring back the soul once it is confined.
1PT 3:18 For Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the sake of the unrighteous, that he might lead you to God. Put to death in the flesh, he was brought to life in the spirit.
2TM 1:10 but now made manifest through the appearance of our savior Christ Jesus, who destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,
RV 1:18 the one who lives. Once I was dead, but now I am alive forever and ever. I hold the keys to death and the netherworld.
One Inconvertible Proof of the Preexistence of Jesus Christ from Eternity:
The future Ruler of Israel was already preexistent from the beginning, from the days of eternity:
MIC 5:2 AND THOU, BETHLEHEM Ephrata, art a little one among the thousands of Juda: out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be the ruler in Israel: and his going forth is from the beginning, from the days of eternity. (DRV)
When the future Ruler of Israel, who was preexistent from everlasting, was born on earth in time, He was called Christ:
MT 2:1-6 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men [astrologers] from the east came to Jerusalem, asking, Where is He Who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east at its rising and have come to worship Him. When Herod the king heard this, he was disturbed and troubled, and the whole of Jerusalem with him. So he called together all the chief priests and learned men (scribes) of the people and anxiously asked them where the Christ was to be born. They replied to him, In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet: And you Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, you are not in any way least or insignificant among the chief cities of Judah; for from you shall come a Ruler (Leader) Who will govern and shepherd My people Israel. (AMP)
And Jesus admits He is that Christ:
JN 25-26 The woman said to Him, I know that Messiah is coming, He Who is called the Christ (the Anointed One); and when He arrives, He will tell us everything we need to know and make it clear to us. Jesus said to her, I Who now speak with you am He. (AMP)
MK 14:61-62 But He kept still and did not answer at all. Again the high priest asked Him, Are You the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), the Son of the Blessed? And Jesus said, I Am; and you will [all] see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power (the Almighty) and coming on the clouds of heaven. (AMP)
It was the preexistent Spirit and Soul of Jesus Christ that was sent by God into the immaculate womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God whose going forth is from eternity:
GAL 4:4-5 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to ransom those under the law, so that we might receive adoption.
Therefore, the Preexistence of the Lord Jesus Christ from eternity was His created Soul infused with the uncreated Spirit of God but without a human body yet.
