My REPLY:

SORIANO speaks highly of ignorance but he is actually speaking OXYMORON. This is what the Bible tells us about ignorance:

Proverbs 13:16 GNT
[16] Sensible people always think before they act, but stupid people advertise their ignorance.

Proverbs 15:14 GNT
[14] Intelligent people want to learn, but stupid people are satisfied with ignorance.

My RESPONSE:

So, for SORIANO the meaning of IGNORANCE IS WISDOM that is deep, profound and enigmatic. The verse which he quoted above is an example of SORIANO’s incompetence.

Soriano quoted verse below to prove his point:

My COMMENT;

St.Paul was a blasphemer and persecutor, and injurious. These are ACTUALLY against Christ Jesus and to the christians. He however thought that he was doing the right thing and for God. His being invincibly ignorant of course mitigated his actions, yet THERE IS NO WISDOM in that, it’s actually the opposite. It’s LACKING OF THE KNOWLEDGE of TRUTH. The same reason why he said, ” I did it IGNORANTLY in MY UNBELIEF”. Ignorance and unbelief are NOT VIRTUES.

My RESPONSE:

Actually, it’s through God’s mercy that is why Jesus revealed himself to him while he was on his mission persecuting the Church.

Let us read what happened:

Acts 9:1-5 GNT
[1] … In the meantime Saul kept up his violent threats of murder against the followers of the Lord. He went to the High Priest [2] and asked for letters of introduction to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he should find there any followers of the Way of the Lord, he would be able to arrest them, both men and women, and bring them back to Jerusalem. [3] As Saul was coming near the city of Damascus, suddenly a light from the sky flashed around him. [4] He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul! Why do you persecute me?” [5] “Who are you, Lord?” he asked. “I am Jesus, whom you persecute,” the voice said. …

There IS NO SEEKING of Truth on St. Paul’s part but he was called and Christ REVEALED himself to him. It’s God’s mercy and NOT of his ignorance.

My reply:

Jesus was ACTUALLY convicting Paul and said to him” WHY ARE YOU PERSECUTING ME?” The Bible never said that God was PLEASED WITH ST. Paul because he was persecuting the Church, nor PLEASED with his ignorance and unbelief.

GALATIANS 1:13-16

Paul’s co-apostle, Peter, gives cognizance to this fact. The latter acknowledges that there are things hard to understand in the writings of Paul because of the kind of wisdom given to him.

II PETER 3:15-17
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.

My reply:

There is NO QUESTION that St. Paul is in fact an intelligent person. NOTICE WHAT ST. PETER said about Saint Paul’s epistles,” speaking in them of these things; in which some things HARD TO BE UNDERSTOOD”
Soriano certainly don’t understand St. Paul.

SORIANO said:

Notice that Paul calls himself the least of all saints – a mark of humility despite his wisdom. He could feel the element of mystery in such wisdom that is not openly given to just anyone at anytime.

EPHESIANS 3:8-9
8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things through Jesus Christ”

With such nature, this wonderful wisdom cannot be appreciated and comprehended by the wicked. And so what do they do? They pervert teachings from this wisdom.

This is exactly what is happening to Stephen “Steve” Shott and his peers. In the futile attempt of this Catholic priest to defend his baseless belief of baptizing infants, he asked if there is any verse forbidding infant baptism.

My reply:

SORIANO is praising St. Paul of his humility, yet CANNOT appreciate it, otherwise he could imitate him being humble. He exhibits the very opposite as he lacks virtue. SORIANO then went on to attack Fr. Steve Shott.

He said:

Shott implies that since there is no verse in the Bible forbidding infant baptism, the Catholic Church is correct. He also demands to be shown a command by Christ or the Apostles condemning infant baptism.

My reply:

Fr. Shott is correct to point out that there is NO commandment from Christ and his apostles NOT to baptise infants. Jesus clearly said that “unless one is born of water and spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:5). Of course Jesus meant “human”. The fact that a baby is human he then can be baptist and enter the kingdom of God. This is in line with what Jesus said,”
Let them come to me”.

SORIANO’s explicit ignorance of Catholic faith is evident in his next statement. He said:

As we earlier pointed out, Pope Benedict XVI declared ex cathedra that there is no Limbo after all. But Catholics still baptize their infants. It is very clear Shott prefers to ignore our argument, hence insisting on a verse.”

My reply:

Pope Benedict DID NOT made an “ex CATHEDRA” statement regarding “limbo”. In fact he made NO “Ex cathedra ” statement in the whole of his office as pope.

SORIANO added:

If every prohibition is expressed in “don’ts” and “must not’s,” will man be unable to find his way? Will he not know his whereabouts? God gave common sense and logic to man. There is no excuse that he cannot find his way in this life – unless one is as willingly stupid and stubborn like Shott!

My reply:

We agree that NOT ALL that is true or what we need to do is written in the Bible. Now SORIANO is ditching his very own dictum ” if not in the Bible” then it’s not true”. Why is he doing this is because he could not find a single verse to support his prohibition of baptising infants.

Soriano is diverting the topic, he went on to other topic as he cannot find a single verse against infant baptism.

He said:

LEVITICUS 17:10
And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.

The reason for the prohibition is this: Blood is sacred and does propitiation for the soul. It can turn away the wrath of God.

LEVITICUS 17:11
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Aside from its being sacred as given and described by God, we have now knowledge about the disadvantages of consuming blood for food. Here’s an excerpt from Live Science –

The strange fact is, blood, when drank, is toxic. When confined to places where blood is supposed to be — such as the heart, vessels, and so on — it is essential for life. But when ingested it’s a very different story. Of course all toxins have doses, and just as a tiny bit of poison won’t necessarily harm you, the more you eat or drink, the greater the danger.

Because blood is so rich in iron — and because the body has difficulty excreting excess iron — any animal that consumes blood regularly runs a risk of iron overdose. While iron is necessary for all animals (and indeed most life), in high doses it can be toxic. My RESPONSE:

Drinking blood is dangerous indeed. I am still unaware of any catholic WHO DRINKS animal bloods. It implies that it’s “fresh” animal bloods. Catholics are not required to eat nor not to eat animal bloods. The OT prohibition of not eating blood is for the Israelites. Blood is indeed high in iron and it could be dangerous when it’s consumed in large amount and regularly. The kidneys could be overwhelmed and could cause kidney failure. Note that most foods and even medicines works in the similar concept. If you take too much salt, or sugar, or eat too much banana, too much fats, too much protein. The list is very long. Furthermore, even too much and too often blood transfusion is not advisable as it has its detrimental effect to the body.

Note that SORIANO’s example is not exactly the same as the prohibition of consuming blood by the Israelites. The Israelites had biblical basis, SORIANO’s prohibition of infant baptism has ZERO BASIS. His attempt to demonstrate his analogy FAILED. To make his point appear strong he usually take another topic to hide his weak arguments for his MAIN TOPIC.

Soriano said:

As fats can cause a host of human ailments, logic and common sense dictate that blood also can. That is one reason it was strictly prohibited by the Lord for the Israelites through stern warnings using “don’t” and “mine” in the consumption of both!

LEVITICUS 3:17, 16
17 It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.
16 And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire for a sweet savor: all the fat is the LORD’s.

The Lord’s way of saying “Fat is not good for you” was expressed by these wise declarations: “The priest shall burn them” and “All the fat is the LORD’s.”

My reply:

Soriano mentioned of fats being unhealthy to consume, and like blood was not allowed to be eaten in the OT. ADD however members use and consume fats. He never prohibited fats to his members at all as part of their doctrines.

My Controversy evading the topic he is supposed to proved and now managed to completely jumped to other topic. It’s just like a book with the Title ” BIOLOGY” yet inside the contents is Trigonometry. The topic is only on its cover.

SORIANO’s ATTACK against Fr. Shott:

My RESPONSE:

Animal blood sacrifices has NO MORE VALUE from the time of Christ. Jesus sacrifice is THE REAL SACRIFICE for the remission of sins.

Hebrews 10:4 NKJV
[4] For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.”

We are allowed to eat even bloods based on the principle that Jesus said.

Mark 7:14-16 NKJV
[14] When He had called all the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “HEAR Me, everyone, and UNDERSTAND: [15] There is NOTHING that ENTERS a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man. [16] If ANYONE HAS ears to hear, LET HIM HEAR!

Mark 7:18-21 NKJV
[18] So He said to them, “Are you thus WITHOUTH UNDERSTANDING also? Do you not perceive that WHATEVER ENTERS a man from OUTSIDE cannot defile him, [19] because it does not enter his heart but his STOMACH, and is ELIMINATED, thus purifying all foods?” [20] And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. [21] For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, …”

We don’t need to explain the above verses as Jesus already eXplained CLEARLY.

Soriano said:

This is the reason why up to the time of the New Testament, God through the Apostles and the Holy Spirit underscored four abstentions for God’s people: 1) From pollutions of idols; 2) From fornication; 3) From things strangled; and 4) From blood. Abstain! Refrain yourself from things unhealthy and forbidden! The Apostles were talking and from here, we can learn what a true follower of Christ must do.

THE ACTS 15:19-20, 28-29
19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well, Fare ye well.

We don’t read “don’ts” in the preceding verses, do we? “Animals strangled” means animals that died without the blood being shed. Thus logic follows that because blood is forbidden, a strangled animal which flesh is filled with the forbidden blood is also prohibited.”

My reply:

Soriano is mere playing with words, the very word “abstain” literally mean “not to” or “do not”. What a silly arguments. He just insulted himself being lacking of honesty and common sense.

Moreover, the so called prohibition of consuming blood is no longer the same in context and purpose. They asked the Gentiles not to eat as not to offend the Jews who don’t eat it. ( Act 1:1-28)

In an earlier statement, DOH spokesperson Dr. Lyndon Lee-Suy said that eating double-dead meat is hazardous to health because it may result to stomachache, diarrhea and even food poisoning.

My RESPONSE:

Common sense is not SORIANO’s forte. We know that any animals died and not killed for consuming are likely died of infection, hence to consume it for food is NOT GOOD for our health. When infected animals even when they were bled it remains unfit for us to eat.

Soriano, after a lengthy diversion finally back to the topic.

He said:

Back to infants, nowhere in the Bible can we find that it is prohibited for an infant or even a child to be baptized – and for that matter – to be married, as part of the sacraments of the Catholic Church. None. So, is that why you do it to them?

Marriage is between man and woman who love each other committed to form a family. Baptism on the other hand is the regeneration or being born again in water and Spirit. Soriano profess that “Baptism now saves” yet he prohibits infants to be save. Is this not a doctrine of the devil? I believe that it is from the devil as Satan always try to prevent humans to be saved.

Soriano argues:

“According to the Modern Catholic Dictionary, the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church include baptism, confirmation, Eucharist, penance, orders, matrimony, and the anointing of the sick.

Note that these seven sacraments include baptism and matrimony. Following the senseless and stupid allegation of Shott therefore, it is rightful for him to bestow upon a baby the sacrament of matrimony! Stupidity at its pinnacle is the stupidity of Shott!

Yes! Someone is exposing his own stupidity and that is Soriano. Not because they are sacraments then all can be administered in the same way without requirements.

My RESPONSE:

Matrimony is between man and woman as practice from time immemorial. NOT FOR A CHILD to received it like food. The Church CANNOT give the sacrament of matrimony to ONE PERSON, it’s for man and woman that they will become one. That is the mystery of matrimony. Babies cannot procreate which is the essence of marriage. Soriano FAILED to see the difference and the use of his common sense.

Soriano keep on and on barking, he said:

There are admonitions without the “don’ts” and “must not’s” from where we can get wisdom.

I CORINTHIANS 7:38, 36
38 So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better.
36 But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry.

This is a glaring truth in the Bible but I doubt if Shott can learn anything from this!

The verses above is essentially different. St. Paul tells us wether one should or shouldn’t marry. And he gave us advice which one to choose under certain circumstances. That is on marriage. On baptism, Christ tells us THAT WE MUST BE BAPTISED to be save, not YOU MAY OR MAY NOT like in marriage.
