The Holy Eucharist: Receiving the Lamb of God who takes away the Sins of the World.

QUESTION: Why did you say that in the Eucharist, we become like Jesus, or even become Jesus Himself. How can that be when Jesus is sinless and we are sinners?

ANSWER: Yes, Jesus is sinless and we are all sinners. That’s why we need Him in the Eucharist because Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. We must be united to Him, to be one with Him because we all need Him. He alone can save us from our sins and give us the grace and strength to avoid sin. The Eucharist is not a reward for saints but a help to sinners. It is a remedy for our weakness and medicine for our illness.
