Jesus never wrote a Bible and never commanded any one to write a Bible. This is not to say that the Bible is useless. No! What this means is that emphasizing the Bible to the exclusion of the Church that produced it is illogical and unbiblical at the same time. It was the Catholic Church that produced. It was not the Bible that produced the Church. In fact, Paul clearly states that the Church is the pillar and guardian of truth and not the Bible! Is this hard for Protestants to understand?
I TIMOTHY 3;15-16(NRSV)
“If I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the CHURCH of the living God, the pillar and bulwark of the truth. Without any doubt, the mystery of our RELIGION is great:”
In the above passage, two things stand out. Paul refers to:
1.The Church is the pillar and bulwark of the truth, and
2. Our religion is great(great is the mystery of our religion)
The Protestant argument that the Bible alone is true does not make any sense because Paul says that the Church is the pillar and bulwark of the truth and that the mystery of our religion(not the mystery of the Bible) is great.
How could even the Bible alone be true when the Bible was not in existence for four centuries of the Christian era? The Bible could not be the pillar and bulwark of the truth prior to the fourth century because the Holy Bible did not exist. Even the word Bible itself came into use in the 4th century-it was never heard of before despite the Ignorant claims that Scriptures equate to the Bible. The first Bible was printed in the 1600’s after Dutch man Johannes Gutenberg(a Catholic) invented the printing press. To tell you the truth, no Early Christians believed or taught Bible alone. It came up in the 16 century when Luther started his infamous reformation. It is no wonder that those who teach Bible alone doctrine are elements of Luther.
Again, why do those who teach Bible alone believe different things that contradict the Bible itself if Bible alone doctrine is true? They also attend Bible studies. Why do you attend Bible studies if Bible alone is sufficient? You see, “Sola Scriptura” makes no sense. Those who promote it, teach one thing but practice another thing. Their actions are sufficient proof to renounce “Sola Scriptura” as the greatest deception to remove souls from the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, the Church founded by our Lord Jesus. It is a deception that any education person can perceive easily with a simple use of logic.
