COLLECTING MONEY DURING THE HOLY MASS IS A BIBLICAL PRACTICE
Question:
We have seen that there are in-charge personnel for the collection of money during the Holy Mass.
Is that kind of practice still in accordance with the Holy Bible?
Answer:
The answer is yes because the early Christians including the apostles are doing that one. Also, the Holy Bible tells us that we as members of the church must have to help one another for the good benefit of the church through giving money, food, and others.
Here are the examples from the Holy Bible:
2 Cor 8:10,13-14
“And herein I give my advice; for this is profitable for you, who have begun not only to do, but also to be willing, a year ago. For I mean not that others should be eased, and you burthened, but by an equality. In this present time let your abundance supply their want, that their abundance also may supply your want, that there may be an equality”
2 Cor 9:7
“Every one as he hath determined in his heart, not with sadness, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”
Acts 2:45
“Their possessions and goods they sold, and divided them to all, according as every one had need.”
1 Cor 16:2
“On the first day of the week let every one of you put apart with himself, laying up what it shall well please him; that when I come, the collections be not then to be made.”
Take note that you can’t find verses in the Bible condemning the collection of money in the Holy Mass. Also, they are doing these practices every time they will gather for worship.
