Soriano lied that the name Cyrus is not mentioned in the Bible!

In his new blog, fugitive preacher Soriano lied to his followers that name of the country Cyprus is not mentioned in the Bible. HA HA HA! I do not know what Bible Soriano is using? He was supposed to answer a commentator if the Philippines is in the Bible but instead of answering the person, he ended up committing blunders. One thing that made my mind tweak is where Soriano says that the name of the Country Cyprus is not mentioned in the Bible. Look what he said;

“There are great nations in the world today that exists whose name is not in the Bible. There is a hint of the nation of Cyprus, even though the word “Cyprus” is not mentioned, The Bible mentions it as Chittim; but the word Cyprus is not in the Bible. America, Great Britain or the United Kingdom are also nowhere to be found in the Bible. There are prophecies in the Bible that do not mention the name; therefore, it is logical that we cannot find those names in the Bible.”

Here is the snapshot should Soriano edit his article;

Not only is this statement deceptive, it is a sign of Soriano’s ignorance of the Bible. Just to tell you, I am a Soccer fan and whenever i watch the UEFA Champions league, i usually watch Cyprus teams like APOEL playing. These remind me of how Cyprus is a Biblical land-which Paul mentioned in his apostolic travels in Acts. I present here evidence of the name Cyprus in the Bible from the King James version- Soriano’s favorite.

OLD TESTAMENT VERSES

Numbers 24;24: Ships will come from the shores of CYPRUS; they will subdue Ashur and Eber, but they too will come to ruin.”

Isaiah 23: 1: A prophecy against Tyre: Wail, you ships of Tarshish! For Tyre is destroyed and left without house or harbor. From the land of CYPRUS word has come to them.

Isaiah 23;12: He said, “No more of your reveling, Virgin Daughter Sidon, now crushed! “Up, cross over to CYPRUS; even there you will find no rest.”

Jeremiah 2:10: Cross over to the coasts of CYPRUS and look, send to Kedar and observe closely; see if there has ever been anything like this:

NEW TESTAMENT VERSES

Acts 4;38: And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of CYPRUS

Acts 11;20: And some of them were men of CYPRUS and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

Acts 13;14: So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to CYPRUS.

Acts 15:39: And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto CYPRUS;

Acts 21:3: Now when we had discovered CYPRUS, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden.

Acts 21:6: There went with us also certain of the disciples of Caesarea, and brought with them one Mnason of CYPRUS, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.

Acts 27:4: And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under CYPRUS, because the winds were contrary.

These verses prove that the name of the country Cyprus is mentioned in the Bible-contrary to Soriano’s falsehood. Whether Soriano meant that the name Cyprus is not mentioned in the Hebrew or Greek versions of the Bible remains to be seen because he makes no mention of such a thing.

Soriano goes ahead by using a form of argument that can be used against his attack of the Catholic Church’s teachings. He claims that;

“So a name which was given to a particular nation only in the 1500’s of our era cannot be found in the Bible and it is logical. But it doesn’t mean that because the name of a particular nation or a country cannot be read in the Bible, that nation is not included in the Biblical prophecy – just like the case of my country, the Philippines.”

Good point Soriano! It actually works against you when you claim that Catholic doctrines like the Trinity, Purgatory etc are not in the Bible. So does that mean that the theology behind is not found in the Bible? Like Bro. Duane said, when it is about the ADD it is okay but when it is about the Catholic Church, it is wrong! What a pathetic hypocrite!

He then goes to use an argument similar to that employed by the Iglesia ni Manalo when he claims that the “east” mentioned in the Bible is the Philippines.

“The east mentioned here is not the east of Jerusalem but it is the east where the rising of the sun commences. We know that the sun rises in the direction of the Far East and that is where my country lies. The Philippines is in the Far East and not in the near east….”

Actually Karl Keating did refute this false reasoning in his refutation of the INC; Let  us let us Keating refute this;

“For instance, believers in the claims of Felix Manalo say Revelation’s references to an “angel” coming out of the “East” or from “afar” refer to a “messenger” (“angel” is taken from the Greek for “messenger”) coming from the “Far East.” And what is the geographic center of the Far East? Why, the Philippines, of course. Therefore, Felix Manalo was a true prophet: (1) He claimed to be a prophet, which means (2) that he claimed to be God’s messenger, and (3) he came from the Far East.

How to respond to such a claim? I started by listing the countries that make up the Far East: China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, the Indochinese countries, and, yes, the Philippines. “If you look at a map of the Far East,” I said, “you’ll see that the Philippines is in the lower right-hand corner. The geographic center is in southern China, not in the Philippines.” There were laughs from the Catholics and Protestants (a few hundred of them were in the audience), nervous fidgeting from the Iglesia people.” (From Karl Keating, INTO A MAW A CULT)

Soriano then continues by denying that the gospel was first preached in Jerusalem-contrary to the Bible testimony. However, he contradicts himself in the process. He wrote;

“So, it is not in the Middle East or in the near east where Christianity was first established but it is in another east which is different from the near east where Christianity was first preached, the near east. Therefore, it is another east and this east is very clearly defined in the Bible as the east from where the sun rises.”

See how he contradicts himself:(he claims that Christianity was not first established in the near Middle east or near east but again says it was first established there!). The Bible says that the gospel or Christianity was first preached or established in Jerusalem which is in the middle East. On this alone, we shall let the Bible refute Soriano;

Luke 24;45: “And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His Name among all nations beginning at Jerusalem.”

Not ending at Jerusalem, but beginning at the city of Jerusalem, and not beginning 2000 years later when a people who call themselves Jews occupy the city, but beginning right then.BTW, History and scripture verify that the disciples preached the Gospel first in Jerusalem, then in Judea, then in Samaria, and then to the uttermost parts of the earth where the Israelites had gone.

Near the end of his post, Soriano uses a wrong premise-which leads him to wrong conclusion-thus committing a deductive fallacy. He wrote:

“Most oriental countries have their own religion. For example, Buddhism is very prevalent in Japan and other oriental religions. They do not believe in the Lord God of Israel. But in the Philippines, it is the only country in Asia that believes in the Bible and that takes the Bible as the authority of their faith.”

This is false! Actually there is Christianity in  Japan-which believes in the Bible authority, as well in Singapore, India, Korea,Armenia, Georgia and even China. These countries have the Christian religion and thus have the Bible as an authority. Soriano seems to think that Asia is limited to Japan and Philippines!

He then concludes by asking a thought stopping question-typical of Watch Tower Society trickery;

“Now, is there such a person like the Apostle Paul in the east who will preach the name of the Lord God of Israel? Is there a prophecy that tells about his being and is there a prophecy that tells us the time when this vessel of God or instrument of God like the Apostle Paul will preach the name of the Lord God of Israel in the east?..”

This is thought-stopping question that will lead his followers to question who is that person similar to the apostle Paul and then conclude that it is Soriano! See how Soriano tricks his followers using deceptive techniques of false reasoning!

After reading this, you can see that Soriano is a false prophet using deceptive techniques to mislead people into damnation and wrong conclusions. Isn’t it high time for his followers to realize that this man and his cult will lead them only to hell? Whether it be false writings or outright lies, Soriano’s followers must recognize that this man’s teachings are false,do contradict and completely extinguish previous viewpoints.

And the Lord warns;

“My people perish for lack of wisdom”(Hosea 4:6)

Beware of false preachers like Soriano!
