Objection No. 1
“The New Mass confuses the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist with his mystical presence among us”.
The Vatican 2 Novus Ordo Missae does not confuse the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist because the Vatican 2 Liturgy, as well the council itself, still professes and teaches that Christ is present in the Eucharist.
CATHECISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
PARAGRAPH 1333
“At the heart of the EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION are the BREAD AND WINE that, by the words of Christ and the invocation of the Holy Spirit, BECOME CHRIST’S BODY AND BLOOD”.
Objection No. 2
“The narrative manner of the consecration in the New Mass infers that it is only a memorial and not a true sacrifice”.
The Vatican 2 Council still teaches that the Eucharistic celebration or the Holy Mass is a true and a proper sacrifice.
1983 CODE OF CANON LAW
CANON 899
“The Eucharistic celebration is to be so ordered that all the participants derive from it the many fruits for which CHRIST THE LORD INSTITUTED THE EUCHARISTIC SACRIFICE”.
CATHECISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
PARAGRAPH 1367
“Since in this divine sacrifice which is celebrated in the MASS, the same Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross is contained and offered in an unbloody manner…. THIS SACRIFICE IS TRULY PROPITIATORY”.
Objection No. 3
“The New Mass follows the format of Cranmer’s heretical Anglican Mass, and the methods used to promote it follow precisely the methods of the English heretics”.
Take note that the Novus Ordo Missae contains and maintains the theological foundation on the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. No need for the Vatican 2 Council to follow Cranmer’s heretical Mass because the Vatican 2 liturgy was based on the traditions of the Church (2 Thes 2:14-15, 3:6) and the Catholic Church cannot copy or even joined “Cranmer’s Mass”, since the Catholic Church is of GOD and Cranmer was a heretic (2 Cor 6:14-15).
Objection No. 4
“The abolition of the Traditional Mass recalls the prophecy of Daniel 8:12 “and he was given power against the perpetual sacrifice because of the sins of the people” and the observation of St. Alphonsus De Liguori that because the Mass is the best and most beautiful thing which exists in the Church here below, the Devil has always tried by means of heretics to deprive us of it”.
*The Daniel 8:12 can’t be used as a basis to accuse Vatican 2 Council in “abolishing the Traditional Mass or known as the Latin Mass” because even the Vatican 2 did not abolish the Traditional Latin Mass. In fact, still the Vatican 2 recognizes the Traditional Latin Mass. The Vatican 2 only reserves in other occasions and for some requests the Traditional Latin Mass.
Card. Mayer wrote:
“On October 3, 1984, the Sacred Congregation for Divine Worship issued Quattuor abhinc annos in which the Holy Father granted the diocesan bishops “the possibility of using an INDULT whereby priests and faithful … may be able to celebrate Mass by using the Roman Missal according to the 1962 edition.
Those requesting permission do not “call into question the legitimacy and doctrinal exactitude of the Roman Missal promulgated by Pope Paul VI in 1970“.
Therefore, “Self-Styled Traditionalists” can’t accuse the Vatican 2 of “abolishing the Traditional Mass or known as the Latin Mass”. Take note that you can’t abolish and at the same time acknowledge the legislation that you want to abolish. You acknowledge because you recognize and want it. You abolish because you don’t want it.
*The Daniel 8:1-27 does not speak about the “The abolition of the Traditional Mass” because it was not stated even by word-for-word and by thought about that matter. Upon reading the whole chapter 8 of the Book of Daniel, the text refers between the good and bad, the sorrows, etc. and not the Mass itself. When we read the Bible, we must be careful because there are some difficult texts to be read and it must be analyzed, not by word-for-word (2 Pet 3:16, 2 Cor 3:6).
*It is very impossible for the heretics to alter the validity of the Mass of the Catholic Church because:
- Christ is there in his Catholic Church, which is his mystical body (Mat 28:19-20, Col 1:18).
- The gates of hell shall not prevail (Mat 16:18).
- Christ is in the Eucharist (John 6:53-58, Luke 22:19-23).
- Christ cannot be joined with the heretics in the Eucharist (2 Cor 6:14-15).
- The father of all heretics and heresies is Satan (John 8:44).
Objection No.5
“Removing the salutations and final blessing when the priest celebrates alone, shows a denial of, and disbelief in the dogma of the Communion of Saints”.
That is false because the Vatican 2 still teaches and keeps the Dogma of the Communion of Saints.
CATHECISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
PARAGRAPH 961
“The term COMMUNION OF SAINTS refers also to the communion of the HOLY PERSONS IN CHRIST who died for all, so that what each one does or suffers in and for Christ bears fruit for all”.
Remember, the ends do not justify the means.
