Thus, Jesus alone has the authority to pass judgment on man’s heart since it is a confession and belief in Jesus that determines one’s eternal fate— “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9, emphasis added). John 3:16 promises that “whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”………….The authority granted to Peter and the apostles refers to the work in proclaiming the Gospel by which people come to know the Truth and through which the kingdom of heaven thus opens. The key is the knowledge of the Word, the life-giving Word that sets every person free (Luke 11: 52, John 8:32). So, “keys of the kingdom” are the words of Christ…….These words have power to open and to shut heaven. They declare the conditions upon which men are received or rejected. Christ had committed to the Apostles the word of reconciliation and St. Paul teaches that the Apostles or the leaders of the Church are AMBASSADORS OF CHRIST. It means they can officially speak for Christ with authority.
Jas 5:14-16 [DRB] Is any man sick among you? Let him bring in THE PRIESTS OF THE CHURCH and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick man. And the Lord shall raise him up: and if he be in sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess therefore your sins one to another: and pray one for another, that you may be saved. For the continual prayer of a just man availeth much.
THE PRIESTS HAS ROLES NOT ONLY IN PRAYING OVER THE SICK PERSONS BUT ALSO IN RECONCILING THEM TO GOD THROUGH FORGIVENESS OF SINS. THE SAME VERSES ALSO TEACHES US THE NECESSITY AND PRACTICE OF ORALLY CONFESSING SINS.
- This refers to the healing power [physical and spiritual] of the Priests of the Church.

WELL, YOU ARE NOT BELIEVING JESUS THEN. JESUS GAVE AUTHORITY TO FORGIVE SINS TO THE LEADERS OF THE CHURCH AND YET YOU DO NOT ACCEPT IT. IT MEANS YOU DO NOT BELIEVE JESUS. IF YOU REALLY BELIEVE JESUS THEN YOU SHOULD BE ACCEPTING THE DOCTRINE THAT THE CHURCH THROUGH ITS MINISTERS HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO FORGIVE SINS.
