Soriano unbiblically undermines tithes to the Lord by replacing “tithing” with “contributions” to him and that way succeeds into duping his followers to donate large sums of money to him. MCGI members in turn lie and loathe outsiders by upholding and honoring Soriano. This blind loyalty keeps the MCGI coffers filled!
Call it deception or not but Deception is a staple child’s play for Soriano and his minions. They deceptively believe they have the truth even if they have not done the research to prove it, a defining factor of all cults.
Most of their arguments are strongly illogical or at most laughable. For example often in an argument with them, they desperately try as much(but in vain) to prove that their cult(founded in 1980) is the true Church.They believe the Bible mentions their church by name. They desperately want to find the phrase “Church of God” in the Sacred Scriptures. This is the way their argument goes;
“What is the name of God’s church, as given in the Bible? It is the ‘Church of God.’ Our church is called the ‘Members of Church of God International.’ Therefore, ours is the church God founded.“
This argument is facile!
Not many people will be impressed with such an argument but rather many will have trouble not laughing aloud. The problem is that the verse(1 Corinthians 1:2) they usually present does not contain the phrase “Members of Church of God International.” Look it up, you will not find anything as Members of Church of God International. This fact alone backfires on them terribly and when they are presented with this logic, they pull from their bag of tricks again by suggesting that “We do not claim to be the Church founded by God, we are affiliated to the Church of God as indicated in the Bible” a staple Child’s play on their minds again. There is no affiliate Church either.
When you continue zeroing on that, the next desperate attempt they resort to is either start abusing you or changing the topic and resorting to every kind of denigration. And any way type the phrase “Church of God” in google and you will get results of as many ‘Churches o God” and NOT “Members of Church of God International”. You want a little dramatic effect? These people are like magicians. They like to play games and in this case word/name games. MCGI is purely a name game based on some Scriptural text to dupe people into joining one of the greatest religious hoax in history.Why can’t Soriano’s followers realize this? Because they are programmed to believe falsehood!
Because they are constantly embedded with fear of bringing reproach upon their MCGI group, they heed Soriano’s(not God’s) directives like headless chickens. For this reason, the blind MCGI followers remain the blind! By instilling fear into their followers, MCGI leaders are able to keep their members and their financial contributions. Yes, the MCGI cult uses this clever cult tactic out of fear of losing members and ultimately losing money.
Dear brothers and Sisters, do not be deceived! Listen to Soriano and you listen to the devil. Both use the same words and games! The MCGI incessantly pollutes the minds of their followers with false reasoning and outright lies. They are in chains of darkness and their end is perdition (2 Peter 2:4). Their condemnation has been long hovering above them;
“….because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep” 2 Peter 2:1-22
“But if you embrace the errors of these nations that dwell among you, and make marriages with them, and join friendships, know ye for a certainty that…..they shall be a snare and a pit in your way, and a stumbling-block at your side, and stakes in your eyes, til the Lord your God take you away and destroy you” Joshua 23:13
And the Lord Himself loathes such as these;
“I will not communicate with the choicest of them…… Depart from me, ye malignant ones!” Psalm 140:4; 118:115
Apostles and their successors marked these perverts and avoided them;
“A man who is a heretic, after the first and second admonition avoid: knowing that such a man is subverted and sins, being condemned by his own judgement.” Titus 3:10-11
“Turn your thoughts away from a non-Catholic, turn away your ears, so that you may have strength to grasp life everlasting through the One, true and Holy Catholic Church. Our Lord warns all the faithful: they must not put any faith in heretics or schismatics.” St. Augustine
What has been done has been done. We can not do much other than praying for them. They are still our brothers and Sisters. Despite knowing the real “truth” behind the cult they slavishly devote their lives into, they stay in the cult out of fear of losing family members and friends.
They know the wrong in the MCGI but are told that it is wrong to admit that themselves! They are aware of Soriano’s lies, but sadly continue praising him out of fear and that is how they end up being trapped in the cells of MCGI cult.
Pray “that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.” 1 Timothy 2:26
