St. Peter and the Apostles didn’t rely merely on their being fishermen or tax collectors. They received solid FORMATION and TRAINING before the greatest Priest, Preacher, Teacher and Seminary Rector of All: THE LORD JESUS.
Qualifications of a Good Servant Leader.
1. Purity of Intention- Kung head ka ng isang Church group, dapat alam mo kung ano ang spirituality ng grupo. Alam mo din ang pinapasok mong mundo. You are not a leader on your own, someone have chosen you and believed in you. Whoever they are, respect them. For it is the hand of God that brought you on that place through them. Therefore holy obedience is not something demanded of you but out of reverence to Jesus Christ, his body composed of both ordained, consecrated lay, and lay leaders, you are expected to submit and lead with other leaders and elders.
2. Capacity to be- A leader is someone abled and skilled. Not only that, but acknowledged canonically by the Church through sufficient theological or catechetical formation. If not, a person with credible formation by accomplishing basic educational requirements such as highschool, college degree, masters degree or so on, and is under the Spiritual direction of an ordained minister. Di puwede i reason out na wala naman degree ang mga apostol. Ganyan na ganyan din ang reason ng mga born again, protestante, dating daan at mga heretics. If proper faith education is not important, bakit pa nagaaral ang mga pari kung puwede talo talo na lang. We need fine men humble enough and brave enough to invest in catechetical formation. Di biro ang gastos sa seminaryo. Questionable ang leadership ng isang taong walang proof of credibility.
3. Capacity to remain- A leader discerns his actions in silence. He decides not by himself but by the consensus of his co- leaders. He does not lead alone. He serves. He must remain to the vine if he wants to grow. A branch apart from the vine shall wither and die. Malalaman na nasa tamang landas ang isang grupo depende sa kung ano ang mga bunga nito. You will know them by their fruits. No one have to judge them. Their own actions will give them judgment. Ministry to the Church is ministry to souls. Mananagot ka sa pastol sa bawat tupang nililigaw mo ng landas. Malalaman mo na naliligaw ng landas ang mga tupa mo kapag nagiging wild na din sila at disobedient, at malalaman mo na naliligaw na pastol ka na, kapag iniiwan ka na ng tupa mo at humahanap na ng ibang pastulan.
