From Dr. William Craig (Craig’s Five Ways of proving God’s existence)
1. The Kalam Cosmological Argument
* Whatever begins to exist has a cause
* The universe begins to exist
* Therefore, the universe has a cause (nothing exists ad infinitum)
(This cause must be timeless, changeless, immaterial, and must have a mind. Quite similar with the God of the Bible because it is the God of the Bible)
2. Teleological Argument/Fine Tuning aka Argument from Design
* Either the universe existed out of physical necessity, chance or design
* The universe did not exist out of physical necessity or chance
* Therefore, the universe existed by Design
3. Moral Argument
* If God does not exist, then objective morality does not exist. Note, it does not claim that God is a necessity, but without God, there is no either good or evil
* Objective morality does exist
* Therefore, God exists
4. Historical argument (Christianity)
* There are facts that gives us a clue about the fate of Jesus of Nazareth: The empty tomb, the post mortem appearances, and the transformation of the Apostles because of the Resurrection
* The hypothesis, “God raised Jesus from the dead” is the best explanation of these facts
* The hypothesis, “God raised Jesus from the dead” proves that the God that Jesus of Nazareth revealed exists
* Therefore, God exists
5. Personal experience (mysticism can be one)
Beliefs which are appropriately grounded may be rationally accepted as basic beliefs not grounded on argument.
Belief that the biblical God exists is appropriately grounded.
Therefore, belief that the biblical God exists may be rationally accepted as a basic belief not grounded on argument
