WHO IS THE LIAR AMONG THE TWO, ELIPHAZ OR MAMA ELI? By Bro. Duanne Yan
The members of Ang Dating Daan want to save their members based on what Eliphaz said in Job 22:15.
They say Eliphaz is a liar because of Job 22:15 and because of this they were scolded by God in Job 42:7-9.
Bible scholars teach that Job 42:7-9 connect to Job 13:4-7 and not Job 22:15
Is it true that what Eliphaz said are all lies?
When Eliphaz said “For then you will delight in the Almighty And lift up your face to God.”(Job 22:26)
Was he lying? Is he not saying the truth because you can find happiness in God? (Psalms 37:4)
When Eliphaz said ,” God brings down the proud
and saves the humble.”(Job 22:29)
is that a lie? Did not St. James say that?
But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.” (James 4:6)
Eliphaz said,
“Have you marked the old way which wikcked men have trodden?.”(Job 22:15, Hebrew-English Bible)
He has a point. That is why the three wise men did not pass by the same route. God asked them to use another route. This was the correct way.
“And being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed to their own country by another way.”(Matthew 2:12)
Now, we know that they will use Jeremiah 6:16 for Ang Dating Daan. Ang Dating Daan is written in Jeremiah 6:16 like what was written in Job 22:15. This is not the case. They have two different meanings if you will research what is written in the Hebrew text.
The Hebrew word for Way is “Orach” (ארח) and the Hebrew word for Path is “Netivot” (נְתִבוֹת)
Did not the Ang Dating Daan in Job 42:7-9 notice that God ordered Eliphaz to go to Job to pray for him? This is contrary to what Eli Soriano teaches that all sins should be directed to God for prayers.
