1. The Old testament reflects the long wait for the Messiah which is the theme of Advent.

2. The Life of Christ in the four gospels is specially celebrated and commemorated from Christmas to the Ascension.

3. Following the Gospels are the Book of Acts, the Epistles of St. Paul and the Catholic Epistles which discussed the teachings and missionary activities of the Church, a fitting theme for the Feast of Pentecost and the season thereafter.

4. The last Book of the Bible, the Book of Apocalypse or Revelation tells us about the last things that are also mirrored in the eschatological theme of the last weeks of the Church’s Calendar (i.e. All Saints, All Souls Day, and the liturgical readings of the last weeks of the Calendar.)
